Since the last podcast with Prajakta Albuquerque went so well and we couldn’t finish talking all about what all we had planned, we decided to record another episode. In this video, we chat about best practices in the field of drumming corporate training and employee engagement.

This is a very strong tool for transformation of the self and the team. Drumming for health and wellbeing is a good way to ground yourself and bring you (and the group you are drumming with) to the here and now. This will help be present, receptive and action oriented in the moment. Some of our go-to objectives in the drumming for corporate wellness space are

  • Drumming for stress reduction and relaxation. Here’s where we will help facilitate that much needed release of pent up emotional content. We will help to bring about catharsis in a very natural and organic way.
  • Drumming for communication: This is a powerful tool to build awareness about verbal and nonverbal communication styles. Even just by observing another person it is noteworthy how much we can understand about them. But by drumming with a group there is even more information there to be observed and shared.
  • Drumming team building: Drumming is a strong medium to be used in the group cohesiveness space. Existing team bonding or team building strategies are experienced very noticeably in a corporate team building activity like drum circles. Once we experience this first hand, our theoretical understanding of the same is that much more deep and enriched.

There’s a lot to experience and explore in the Taal Inc. corporate training and employee engagement space. I am very excited to meet all the groups we will have the pleasure to drum with through drumming; find our inner rhythm.

In this podcast I also speak about my work with the children of the Pune Home and School for the Blind. This was a very rewarding project with these children who were already musically inclined. The end-of-module performance was like the cherry on top of the cake where we witnessed Indian students demonstrate their understanding and skill about a West African drumming culture. We identified the similarities and differences of the two rich percussion heritages and came together as one; a truly unifying experience.

You will find a lot of interesting details in this podcast which I urge you to watch, absorb and apply in your lives in some way or the other. As always, happy drumming!

Come. Drum. Be One.
