After being in the group drumming and drum circle space for around 20 years, it is time to take things to the next level, don’t you think? We are in an age where people are our true superpower. We need them to make our workforce and help us further our visions. Needless to say, things are fast-paced and we seem to be caught in very demanding work environments. It’s crucial for organizations to prioritize the well-being and development of their employees. Need help? We thought you’d never ask…!

At Taal Inc., we believe that integrating the arts into our employee enrichment program can have a profound impact on the health, performance and productivity of our teams. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new initiative, “Drumming, Arts & Health,” a series of monthly interventions designed to enhance the overall well-being of our employees. Forget employee engagement and think ‘employee enrichment’

The Power of Drumming and the Arts

Drumming and other art forms have been shown to have numerous benefits for physical and mental health. Studies have found that drumming can reduce stress and anxiety, boost mood and creativity, and improve cognitive function and coordination. By incorporating drumming and other arts-based activities into our employee enrichment program, we aim to provide our teams with a unique and engaging way to improve their well-being and resilience.

Objectives and Assessments

Over the course of one year, we will be conducting monthly drumming and arts-based interventions for a specific team within the organization. Each session will focus on a relevant objective, such as

  • Stress management and relaxation
  • Improving communication and teamwork
  • Enhancing creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Promoting mindfulness and emotional regulation
  • Fostering a sense of community and belonging

These goals will vary from team to team based on a needs analysis which will be done beforehand. We’ll take our time for this needs analysis. It is VERY important not to rush this process especially because many times, what you think is the problem, is not…

To measure the effectiveness of these interventions, we will be conducting pre- and post-program assessments using various psychometric tools. These assessments will help us track changes in stress levels, mood, cognitive function, and overall well-being among the team. By gathering data and feedback throughout the program, we can continuously improve and adapt our approach to best meet the needs of the group.

Experiential Learning and Arts-Based Facilitation

Our “Drumming, Arts & Health” program will be facilitated by experienced professionals who specialize in arts-based learning and employee development. You can read more about them from our website ‘About’ section. Each session will be highly interactive and experiential, allowing our employees to actively engage with the material and apply what they’ve learned in a practical setting.

Through a combination of drumming workshops, visual art sessions, expressive arts sessions, creative movement sessions, creative writing sessions, corporate team building games, outbound sessions, group discussions, and creative exercises, your employees will have the opportunity to explore the connections between the arts, health, and personal growth. By immersing themselves in these activities, they will develop a deeper understanding of the power of the arts to enhance well-being and performance. This is what makes people stay and not run the next ‘better’ opportunity they get that pays them more money.

Anticipated Outcomes and Benefits

By participating in our “Drumming, Arts & Health” program, we expect your teams or employees to experience a range of benefits, including

  • Reduced stress and improved work-life balance
  • Enhanced creativity, problem-solving skills, and innovation
  • Improved communication, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Increased job satisfaction and engagement
  • A stronger sense of joy, community and belonging within the organization

Moreover, we believe that by prioritizing the well-being and development of our employees through arts-based interventions, we will see a positive impact on our overall organizational performance and success.

I have been committed to creating a work environment that supports the health and well-being of groups and, through that association, of teams and employees. By launching our “Drumming, Arts & Health” program, we are taking a proactive step towards spreading awareness of fostering a culture of wellness, creativity, and personal growth in your company. Gone are the days where you treat team building as a checkbox to tick off at the end of a year. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we explore the transformative power of the arts and their impact on health and performance. Get in touch with us to have a conversation where we will find out the needs of your group together and come up with a list of objectives that we will work on all year around. Then, once you’ve gone through the process, let’s not talk about – but let’s experience the power of a happy and motivated workforce.

Come. Drum. Be One.
