What you get is ‘Damru’ one of the country’s biggest Percussion Festivals and we at Taal Inc. have been fortunate to play at a few of them but there’s one that stands out, ‘Damru’ 2012 where we the Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble not only performed but our founder director and Djembefola Extraordinaire, Varun Venkt also curated the finale with some of the biggest and most respected names in the world of percussion music.
Yes, along with being the pioneers in organising Team Building Activities in Pune using rhythm, offline and Online Drum Classes, Drumming Circles for Healing and Drum Circles for Seniors and kids, Taal Inc.Rhythm Ensemble is also one of the most sought after world music and percussion based bands in the country. Coming back to this one, browsing through our old video library, we found this one and we’d love to share it with all of you. It features Varun welcoming and performing some soulful yet foot tapping percussion beats with the likes of Ustaad Taufiq Qureshi, Flutist Extraordinaire Milind Date, Padmabhushan Ghatam Grandmaster Vikku Vinayakram and none other than Drumming Maestro Sivamani. And the cherry on the cake,when Djembe grandmaster Mamady Keita himself lends a welcome note for the video, you can be sure that you’re in for a percussion treat for your senses.
